Niels Diffrient's Freedom Chair (1999) has an improvement in ergonomic job
seating. Often, ergonomic chairs are prospective to be wrongly put, resulting
in the creation of more difficulties than they solve. The Freedom Chair is
simpler than other ones; removing many manual changes and creating as an
alternative, a system of internal devices that react to the user's needs. A
unique counterbalancing incline device self-adjusts according to the user's
weight and movement, hence removing the need for manual fixes. Any regulations
can be simply made while the user is placed for precise placing. The seat
cushion offers special shock absorption and load distribution for unique
comfort.
The Freedom Chair won the 2002 National Design Award from the
Smithsonian's Cooper-Hewitt Museum. BUY this model HERE
